Today’s inspiration: “Be somebody that makes everybody feel like somebody.” – Kid President

This simple sentence really says a lot and it really tugged on my heart strings. And it really changed how I acted to everyone around me this week. All I want for those around me is to feel loved, appreciated and to feel like somebody. We don’t always know what is going on behind closed doors. Someone could be struggling and never speak out, feeling down or helpless. Wouldn’t it be such a phenomenal feeling to know that you did something for that person that made them feel good, even just for a moment?

I suffer from anxiety and depression and I am so fortunate to have people in my life who love me and take the time to make me laugh or say something nice, and I feel like my old self for a while. We don’t always know that someone is struggling at work, having a family crisis, or just feeling bad about themselves.

So I encourage and challenge you to take a moment and do something nice and uplifting for another person this week. It doesn’t need to be something elaborate, it’s the small things that sometimes seem insignificant that really do mean the most to people. Send them an email with a funny meme for a little laugh, bring them a coffee for a midday perk, or tell them that they look nice today or that they are doing a good job, maybe ask their opinion about something to let them feel included.

This past week I brought my loving dog into work with me and everyone loved having that little goofball running around looking for cuddles and treats. It was an easy thing for me to do, it made my days a little trickier having to watch and be conscious of when we needed to go for a walk outside but it brought a lot of joy into the office. And we were all a little nicer to each other.

Drop me a note and let me in on what you did to make someone’s day! We are all in this together. #sharethelove
