Now that it is November, be prepared to be flooded with Christmas goodness! I’m talking crafts, gifts and baking….oh the delicious baking. I wish I had been preparing for the holiday season and doing some pre-diet and work-out, but, I didn’t. Maybe next year.
This year I am planning on making all my Christmas cards, luckily I don’t have that many to do, but they will all need to be done this month so they arrive on time.
If you would like to join me in my 12 Cards of Christmas, follow along!
Here is card #1
I am really enjoying the vintage style, particularly the tree on the car rooftop, it is just the cutest and reminds me of the classic Christmas movies.
I am using Canson Oil and Acrylic paper and cut down to become a 5×7 card and Windsor and Newton Acrylic paints.
Painting is something that I fell in love with in high school and I used to paint all the time. And then I moved and suddenly seemed to have different ‘adult’ things to do so it’s been about 3 years of not holding a paintbrush.
I’m glad I got back into it as I really enjoy it. I do a rough sketch first, then a light base color in each area and start building it up and layering with different shades until the effect I am looking for is achieved.
Just keep painting, just keep painting.
And there you have it, a little piece of Christmas. All that is left to do is cut it to size and add a letter inside.
That’s one Christmas card done! 11 more to go!
